Yowza! Are we really here?! What the heck will I blog about after this? When last we were together we had the hilarity of the kitchen ticker tape parade and some lighting installation.
Now the kitchen is where it is at! Well, there is forever stuff left to do, but I thought you'd like to see it just the same. Plus there are some places I'd like to hear your input.
Here.we.go--wheeeee
Before
After
Want to come in for a closer look? Here's a little tour:
(Here the pendants are turned off so you can see the pretty color)
What do you think of the open shelving?
What do you think of the globes? They were totally copied from inspired by Meg over at Whatever. If you don't read it already, you should totally check out her blog--it's awesomesauce. I need more globes.
Here are the new cabinets.
The counter and my lovely faucet--oh and I grew those callas--how crazeeee is that--I can grow nothing! Hopefully, they keep growing--cross your tootsies!
What do you think? (of my stinker, er thinker?!)
Here are a few things I'm still mulling over:
--is there a better way to tie the old cabinets with the new?
maybe get the same hardware?
--I need to do more accessorizing. I'm just not a matchy-matchy dishes peep, but is it too cluttered?
Still on the wish list:
--apron front sink (oh how I lurve thee)
--slate or other Matte counters (ya know, like chem lab--I didn't like chemistry, not no way, no how! Maybe I should say like physics lab, love me some of that!)
--new appliances-not sure what kind-though I had a brief love affair with a red stove
--new coolio, maybe retro stools
A big bloggy shout-out to Edie at life in grace! Her kitchen was such great inspiration. Here's something funny, the kitchen matches my dishes! Check it out
The turquoises almost match! If you are a lover of turquoise, you know that is seldom true. Is it true with most colors though?
Phew! Long post!
I hope you've enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed the kitchen transformation journey. You can see all the steps in the handi-sidebar under kitchen :)

I'm also linking this up to House of Hepworths, funky junk interiors and along for the ride! And just added to Thrifty Decor Chick! Go check out those sites for lots of creative juices flowing! This is my first linky, so wish me luck!
***I'm changing it up again, I think it looks a little 'cleaner' but I'm still interested in your feedback***

I LOVE this!!! Good job!
Shelly,
It turned out great!! I love the lighting too. And so funny about the dishes---I love those and contemplated buying them after I finished my turquoise kitchen. I know you're gonna love making meals from such a happy place!
hugs and blessings (and turquoise joy, as my friend Lana says)

I love the transformation! It has such a great retro vibe. And I think you did a great job pulling off the no-door look. Getting the same hardware would definitely tie the old in with the new.
WOW what a transformation. I love all of the pops of color! So fun. I have a small globe collection started but I am always on the lookout for more. Visiting from Funky Junk Interiors.
Wow what an amazing transformation!! I love the open shelves.
I'm hosting a party right now and I'd love it if you stopped by!

I love the new kitchen!
And that turquoise color..Wow! Its Beautiful..
Love the open shelving!
Wow! The kitchen looks awesome! I looooooooove all the color! Beautiful!
Totally love your open shelves and all the bright colors, including the big blue graphic in your dining area. Love that! I am a big fan of color and your kitchen looks warm and inviting to me. Excelent!
I think matching hardware would be nice. I love the open shelf concept, but I think grouping the same or similar pottery colors together would help the eye know where to focus. Also, maybe some shelves that contain mostly white or clear items, again to give the eye a place to rest. Good luck.
Hi! I LoVe your pendants! I lOvE your globes, what a great idea with that color! I love your new cabinetry and the old, I don't think they need to match any better than they do. I think it all looks WONDERFUL. If I were to suggest anything, I would say that all of the stuff on the front of your fridge does give your whole kitchen a somewhat cluttered look. My eye was immediately drawn to that. Do you have a place in the hall or family room where you could put a lovely pin board and put the kiddies stuff on that? Just a thought. Your colors are GREAT! I love red and turquoise together. It's a beautiful makeover.
Hugs, Cindy S
Me again, I forgot to tell you that retro stools are a GREAT idea! Red vinyl maybe? For a fun funky look!
wow this looks so great! love how bright & cheery it is!
Fabulous transformation. The open cabinets are gorgeous and the color is amazing! Fantastic job! I bet you are thrilled! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! ~ Stephanie Lynn
WOW! I love everything. The colors, the light fixtures, the island. You did a fantastic job.
Hi Shelly-
What a great before and after. I love seeing the before shots- they really make the After that much more dramatic. You have an amazing space- decor wise and size wise. Just lovely.
Your kitchen is awesome! Love the color. Now where did you get those dishes??? LOVE them!
Tanjia--the dishes are from Macy's, but you can get them at a lot of places! They are made by Lenox!
Thanks to everyone that left comments--it totally makes my day!
your kithen rocks! i completely see the inspiration of edie in there, but you have definitely made it your own. GREAT job!
I love how you were so bold with color!!! That is def the way to go!
SUPER fun. It went from really un-remarkable to having a TON of fun personality! I love what you did.
ps. you really pulled off open shelving!
I love your kitchen! It is so fun and cheery. I wish I had the courage (and support from hubby) to paint my cabinets. Love them!
WOW! This is truly amazing! Gorgeous, gorgeous! *Smiles*
Wow, your kitchen looks fabulous! Although I'm a neutral kinda gal, I'm loving all of the color and that you weren't afraid to go for it. Great job! I have a white kitchen with turquoise accents, so your kitchen is right up my alley.
If you're looking, I found a Robin's Egg Blue by Krylon that matches my "Martha Stewart blue" dishes and accents PERFECTLY. I only mention it because the shade took me forever to find and it looks similar to your shade, haha! You can see it in this post: http://www.whitehouseblackshutters.com/2010/06/new-normal.html
Happy to be following you, have a great day!

Love your new kitchen! Such a bold and beautiful transformation!
Love your kitchen makeover! Love the color of your open cabinets - it's so bright and cheery!
WOW!!! The kitchen is gorgeous! i love the openess of it. I think having not cabinet doors makes it look even more open and keeps you honest. Mine get all cluttered because I can just close the cabinet. I also love the big bold art piece on the left side of the kitchen. Is that a door? Chalkboard? What is it? Great job!

Great job....love it. I think matching hardward would be great. I don't think it's too cluttered but would remove the stuff on the fridge. Love the globes!
great makeover.
I'm green w/ envy over your new lighting. SUPERB!
Oh my stinking goodness!!! It is so fun and so beautiful! I absolutely love your new kitchen. You did a great job!
love the kitchen redo!! so funny- this is my first time to visit your blog [found it on soft place to land]. the pic she had posted of your kitchen made me want to see more-- what's so funny is that i thought maybe edie of "life in grace" had posted her kitchen reveal pics and changed her blog name or something... it looks so much like her kitchen before she moved... then i read her beautiful kitchen was your inspiration.. well, you did it!! i am a total random reader and i thought it looked just like her kitchen with the turquoise!! HA!
