Here we are revealing wood! Oh how I love thee! We wanted to have wood floor in our new house and we wanted to be environmental! Into our brains walked bamboo! There are lots of choices and really so many types of wood out there. American Cherry, oh how I love thee

Reveling in Wood!
or maybe some Antique wide oak...
(le sigh)
but really when you don't find enough change in one pocket and some lint in the next, you have to be more budget minded :)
Plus I love that bamboo is a naturally renewing resource! Way better for the environment than other types of wood. We ended up choosing a solid bamboo--vertical and carbonized. I love love lurve it!
Here are all sorts of pictures, but it really is better in person...
Did I mention how much I adore our new floor? Now I just have to keep everybody off of it!

Wood you?
Could you, in a house? Wood you could you, with your spouse? I wood in my house, but I wood not with my spouse! We had the next part of our flooring professionally installed by some great guys from a company called Exotic Flooring--sounds spicay! They had their work cut out for them...
First they had to grind down these cracks--that ran the length of the house-yikes!
and they had to scrape up the nasty ol' linoleum that the original owners put in, it was in sad shape. I just realized I don't have a picture of it, but trust me you're not missing a thing!
Then they came in with their handy cleaning tools, re-cleaned the whole place--scraping every last but of carpet glue and who knows what else off
Me-tic-u-lous!
Next, down went the nifty moisture barrier/floor even-outer-er--official terms only around here

This stuff is kewl!

It looks like you could skate on it!

But you can't walk on it until it dries, even if it's mostly dry your shoe will still get stuck!

I know from experience! Luckily, it no moisture barrier was harmed by my stepping too soon...

Coming soon the floor in all its beauty! Are you as excited as I am?!

Flooring update!
The house that we bought is a foreclosure and it needed all new flooring...
Here is an update on the bathroom/laundry room flooring. We decided to do tile in these mucho aqua areas and I tell you what--there are a lot of tile choices out there!
Left to my own devices I would probably pick some VERY colorful mosaic tile like this, but budget and at least some bit of color restraint held me back. Really I love color, though when I see so many inspiring white home pics online, I like that too-but I'm a color girl at heart :)
Here are some in progress pics of the tile floor in the house.
Laundry Room/Pantry

Upstairs Bathrooms
And my personal favorite...

(Sorry the pic isn't so great, I promise to post lots more when we're done)
You're wondering how I could pick all white when I adore color???
Well I love vintage almost as much, nope, probably more than I love color. This vintage hex tile is so awesomesauce! I'd do it everywhere if I could afford it! It is bee-u-tee-ful!
Next up on the house re-do--we move onto the rest of the downstairs flooring--it's pretty great too!
